A roof on the tack room.

The first room at Hollybank to be properly finished. A small, dry, square space — and a benchmark for the rest.

The tack room is the first room at Hollybank to be properly finished. It is small, dry, square, and lit from above. It smells of leather and warm wood.

We chose it on purpose. You need one room you can stand in and feel that the project is real. Otherwise the site swallows you.

Now the work spreads outwards from this one room. The next is the office. Then the kitchen of the cottage. Then everything else.
